3 Reasons Your Blog Has a High Bounce Rate

Do you have a high bounce rate on your blog? If so, you probably have a problem that can be easily fixed. After all, high bounce rates don’t occur because people don’t like your content. They occur because people get a bad first impression. Let’s go over some of the reasons why you might be making a bad first impression.

Slow Load Times

If people have to wait a long time for a page to load, they will leave. There are millions of options at people’s fingertips, so they don’t have to wait on a site to load. They can just close out and go somewhere else. With that in mind, look for Premium WordPress themes   that don’t use a lot of flash, since flash can take a while to load. That doesn’t meant your theme can’t use any flash. However, you need to keep the flash to a minimum so your site can load quickly.

You should also check your hosting company’s load times. Go with a company that has fast load times so you can keep your readers happy.

Bad Layout
People will immediately leave a website if it has a bad layout. If they can’t find what they are looking for immediately, they will close out and go somewhere else. With that in mind, you need to pay attention to how your site is set up. Make sure it flows properly. It needs to make sense to users so they can find what they are looking for. That means it also needs to have good navigation in place. Make sure people can see the navigation bars as soon as they get to your site, and make sure those navigation bars take people to the correct pages.

No Recent Updates

If you don’t update your blog on a regular basis, people will close out of it as soon as they open it up. Dates are shown right next to posts, and people don’t want to read old content. With that in mind, you need to update you blog on a regular basis. Also, make sure each post is of a high quality.

Updating a blog with “I don’t have time to update right now” doesn’t count as an update.

Follow these tips so you can lower your bounce rates. Then, you can focus on providing quality content to your readers so they will keep coming back over and over again.
